Three parts of our commercial relocation services have enough of their own detail to warrant a page each — what gets handled, what stays with your own trades or vendors, and how the schedule is built around your operating hours.

Our Commercial Relocation Process

A commercial move is not just a bigger residential move — it requires coordination, speed, and accountability that a standard residential crew is not built for. That is what separates a commercial relocation from a house move with more boxes in it. BOSS Moving assigns a dedicated move coordinator to every commercial project. Before move day, we walk through the scope with your office manager: floor plan of the new space, IT equipment inventory, any items requiring special handling, and preferred staging order.

On move day, the crew works from a pre-planned sequence. Boxes are labelled and delivered to the correct rooms at destination. Workstations are disassembled and reassembled. Network and server equipment is handled with anti-static precautions and delivered upright. We clear and sweep before leaving.

For larger operations, we offer phased moves — shifting one department at a time over multiple days to keep your business running throughout the transition. After-hours and weekend scheduling is available for businesses that cannot afford daytime downtime.

Why Vancouver Businesses Choose BOSS Moving

BOSS Moving is fully bonded, WorkSafeBC compliant, and carries $2M general liability insurance — the baseline requirements most Vancouver commercial tenants and property managers specify. We have completed office relocations for law firms, medical clinics, tech companies, and retail chains across Metro Vancouver.

Our commercial clients come back because we show up on time, work without disrupting remaining staff, and handle the post-move details — elevator bookings, building access coordination, parking arrangements — without needing to be managed. Request a quote and a move coordinator will be in touch within one business hour.

Frequently Asked Questions — Commercial Moving

How much does a commercial or office move cost in Vancouver?

Every commercial move is scoped at a walkthrough and quoted as a custom rate agreed before the work begins. Cost depends on what is moving — how many workstations, what modular furniture systems need to come apart and go back together, whether there is IT equipment, and how many access windows the buildings allow. There is no published price here because a figure arrived at without a walkthrough does not mean anything. Request a quote and a coordinator will be in touch to arrange it.

Do you move businesses after hours or on weekends?

Yes, and most commercial moves are planned that way. Moving when the business is closed means staff are not working around a crew, and the furniture is in transit while nobody is billing hours in an empty space. We work seven days a week. For building access, elevator windows and loading-bay reservations — which are usually what sets the schedule — we coordinate both ends as part of the job.

How far in advance should we book a commercial move?

As early as possible. For a small office — say, under a dozen desks — two weeks is a practical minimum, though earlier is better. A move that spans multiple departments or more than one floor wants a month or more, sometimes longer if the building has limited service-elevator availability or the two properties need to agree on a shared access window. The constraint is almost always the buildings rather than our calendar, so the earlier a coordinator can walk the spaces, the more options stay open.

Do you handle IT equipment or specialized gear?

Workstations, monitors and office electronics are packed, handled with anti-static precautions and delivered upright, kept separate from furniture in the truck so nothing is stacked on them. We coordinate the move sequence with your IT vendor so the hardware is ready for them to reconnect at the new address. Specialized medical or laboratory equipment — anything requiring a manufacturer or certified contractor to decommission and recommission — stays with those vendors; we plan the move around their schedule rather than attempting work outside our service.

How do you minimize business downtime during a move?

Through scheduling and sequencing rather than promises. Most moves we plan for after hours or weekends so the business is not operating while the furniture is in transit. For larger operations we phase it by department or floor — one team is unpacking while the rest of the business carries on, which keeps the disruption window as narrow as possible. Detailed labelling keyed to the floor plan means staff arrive to their own boxes at their own desk rather than sorting an unlabelled heap. We do not promise the disruption disappears entirely; what we can say is that the schedule and the plan are built to make the window as small as it can be.
